OK, we made it to Scalea from London!

We made decision to come here from current UK’s madness with riots and lockdown stupidity. We went by car through France. We came via channel tunnel.

In UK no one asked where we are going. If they’d did, we’d say we are going on business to Italy, which is allowed. Simple letter from yourself will do it.

France has also restrictions on travel through — no holidays and only necessary travel allowed — so we had self-declaration that we need to go to Italy because we need to prepare our properties for holiday season rentals and they let us through without any questions.

In Italy, if stopped, you may need to show confirmation that you have property here (ownership of freehold or leasehold or even rental confirmation is OK) and going to holiday — that’s enough.

Now, after dip in our sea and having had BBQ, watching BBC showing all riots sh*t that’s happening in London — just confirming what a smart decision it was to come to Scalea… it’s like another planet here! People relaxed, going to the beach and eating is restaurants.
The only difference from last year — people are wearing masks (and gloves — distributed for free on entrance) in supermarkets.

Will be here until stupid Boris waves 14 days quarantine on return.

Nice one! BTW the France opens from 15/06 so anyone going to holiday home can now safely pass through.

According to BBC, from 06 July there will be no 14 days quarantine on return to UK after travel to Italy, so see you all in Scalea!

From 10 July Brits returning from Italy do not need quarantine.

just came back in UK after 3 month in Italy, all is great and hope will be back again soon.

Hi, Andrew, was great to meet you and Jennifer! We just came back to rainy England, in Scalea is still sunny and Tanya and her husband we’ve met in La Playa are still swimming in sea!

I’ve heard that Italy will re-open in 2021 from 15 May for all. Does anyone has any news on the subject?
